In our planning/visioning meeting in 2004 we added local missions work to our list of Outreaches

In November of 2004 and again in April of 2005 we put together a list of projects, gathered in the Fellowship Hall to put together our work teams and
went out into our community to help our neighbors

November 2004 - the first local missions workday

Ray Carden organized the projects.
Friday evening we met to find out what was in the works and plan the actual workday

First, a little breakfast and team organizing

from yard work (and play)

to installing a power pole for a lady who has lived without electricity for over a year

and fixing windows

plus hauling off years of accumulated junk and debris

painting

a brief break for lunch and status reports

then back to jobs in progress or on to new ones

more painting, mowing, trash hauling

this home had a back door - about four feet off the ground. Our guys built a porch and stairs so the resident could get to her back yard
without walking all the way around her home.

April 2005

This spring we built some handrails

this door took a lot of work
replacing some long sheet metal screws just waiting for a careless hand or head

and adding some stiffeners so the door couldn't be pried open from the outside

yard work and burning brush

a brief lunch break and status report

this family spent the day at Bobby's fixing sheet rock and painting
I think they were more blessed than he

a little hedge pruning and cleaning off of the roof

the resident of this house needed our help, but this bag is full of canned goods she donated to the local
Scouts for a food drive
