Ash Wednesday 2006

This was not the usual Ash Wednesday service. The staff and a team of volunteers put together a Holy Land Adventure.

It included

Carpentry Shop - where everyone learned how to make a dreidel

and we had a collection of antique tools

Pottery Shop - how clay pots are made and the opportunity to make a Christian Symbol using clay

Weaving Shop - with a demonstration of spinning and looms and learn to make a matzo cover

Herbs and Spices Shop - about the different herbs and how they were used

Jewelry Making Shop

Basket Weaving Shop

Synagogue - learn about the history and the significance of the synagogue

Biblical dramas took place throughout the evening, ending with the imposition of ashes.
